The opportunity

The Zscaler Engineer Senior will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, and optimization of Zscaler security solutions within our organization. This role involves working closely with various teams to ensure the security and performance of our network infrastructure, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents.

At our core, our Zero Trust services play a pivotal role in assisting our clients to align security management strategy with business goals. This involves managing Zero Trust access to resources and services, as well as enforcing business, privacy, and security policies. With the support of strategic alliances with third-party vendors, our experienced professionals offer a comprehensive suite of services, including strategy, assessment, testing, and implementation of Zero Trust solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Zscaler security solutions to protect our network infrastructure.

  • Monitor and manage security configurations for Zscaler services.

  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of network environments.

  • Collaborate with IT and network teams to ensure secure deployment and management of network resources.

  • Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches involving Zscaler solutions.

  • Implement and manage security policies and configurations within the Zscaler platform.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).

  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on Zscaler security best practices.

  • Keep current with Zscaler security trends, threats, and technologies.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Solid understanding of Zscaler security solutions, including Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).

  • Proficiency in configuring, managing, and optimizing Zscaler services.

  • Knowledge of network security best practices and industry standards.

  • Ability to implement and manage security controls in network environments.

  • Understanding of network security principles and practices.

  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent documentation skills, including the creation of procedures, process documentation, and user documentation related to IAM applications.

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.

  • Minimum of [3] years of experience in network security or a related role.

  • Strong knowledge of Zscaler security solutions and their features.

  • Experience with network security tools and technologies.

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).

  • Strong understanding of network security, identity and access management, and encryption.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

  • Relevant certifications such as Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP), CISSP, or equivalent are a plus.

Ideally, you would also have

  • Professional certifications in Zscaler, such as Zscaler for Users - Essentials

  • Familiarity with additional cloud security technologies and tools, beyond Zscaler, such as CSPM, Data Protection, Ai, etc.

  • Knowledge of cloud-based security solutions and experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • In-depth knowledge of Zscaler architecture, deployment, and configuration.

  • Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and configuration management.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $73,100 to $132,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $87,600 to $151,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
