Job Title: Business Assistant / Accounts Receivable
Location: WNY Market – On site position at our Buffalo and Southtowns campuses, occasionally at Amherst Campus
Reports To: Business Director
Job Summary :
The Business Assistant’s role is to support the Business Director and the Business Office in maintaining the business transactions of the College. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collection of student payments and invoicing. cash deposits, purchase-card processing, assist with accounts payable management, and purchase order processing, This position also will require work with the Federal Work Study Program, in accordance with all federal rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Servicing students by taking and processing payments, assisting students in understanding their accounts, and working with students on outstanding balances.
Assisting with accounts receivable, sending invoices to students, calling students for collection of outstanding cash payments and student bad debt processing.
Assist in reviewing student excess loan payments, and submitting student refunds for processing
Ensuring high customer service standards are maintained when dealing with students and associates.
Reconciliation of cash and federal general ledger accounts.
Assist with hiring campus Federal Work Study students, ensure program compliance.
Assist in tracking purchase cards activity, ensuring all receipts are received and filed.
Assist in expense report processing
When required run month-end reports, saving them to shared drives, verifying funds were correctly paid in relation to general ledger.
Assist in the preparations of business office information for monthly Systems conference calls.
Purchasing supplies for campus departments.
Assist with purchasing, organizing, and working campus events.
Other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification and Experience:
Associates Degree is required, Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
Basis accounting and collection experience is a plus
Experience in computer applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to interact with a diverse student and staff population.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Personal transportation required.
Salary Range:
$43,000 - $45,000 ($20.67 - $21.63 per hour)
This position is eligible for overtime.
