Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Buffalo, New York

Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor based in Buffalo, New York. The focus of this role is to oversee the organization's credit process, maintain customer records, and handle customer credit inquiries. This role also involves monitoring customer credit accounts and taking necessary actions for delinquent payments.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications

• Maintain precise records of customer credit data

• Resolve any customer credit inquiries effectively

• Monitor customer credit accounts regularly and take appropriate action for delinquent payments

• Prepare monthly AR reserving, bad debt entries, and compare reports

• Coordinate the monthly close process and review accountants' analyses for accuracy and completeness

• Supervise, train, and evaluate accountants

• Provide financial analysis as required

• Prepare the system consolidation for the monthly financial statements and analyze variances from the budget for presentation to senior management

• Prepare various schedules for annual tax returns and present to senior management

• Oversee the preparation of the annual operating budget for various entities

• Coordinate annual audits and preparation of audited financial statements

• Handle other projects and duties as assigned. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role

• Proficiency in executing accounting functions is required

• Experience in auditing is essential

• Must be skilled in performing month-end close procedures

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required

• detail oriented certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred

• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide the accounting team

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
