Description Robert Half is looking for an Accounting Clerk to join their staff. The primary tasks of the Accounting Clerk will be assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. This is a short-term contract / temporary position based in the Buffalo, New York area.

Key responsibilities

• Remedy discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

• Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

• Work with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

• Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

• Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

• Upload financial information to journals and ledgers

• Categorize documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes Requirements - Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

• Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended

• AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

• Excellent data entry skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of filing
