Job Summary

As a UPK Teacher at Primary Hall, you will be responsible for providing foundational education to students in the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program, fostering their development in social, emotional, and academic skills. Your role will focus on creating an inclusive, engaging, and positive classroom environment while developing curriculum and instruction that meets the unique needs of each student. Additionally, you will promote a love of learning by integrating technology and fostering fundamental skills, ensuring students grow in a rigorous and joyful learning atmosphere. Working with a team of like-minded educators, you will contribute to the culture of the School and support students’ individual growth and development. ? Use data-driven instruction by regularly analyzing student performance and implementing strategies to Amergisize

? Create and adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.

? Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.

? Deliver differentiated instruction to cater to the individual learning needs of all students.

? Focus on building foundational literacy (reading, writing, speaking) and numeracy (mathematics) skills.

? Provide ongoing feedback to students focusing on their growth and achievement.

? Build strong relationships with parents and students, driving investment in school culture and academics.

? Implement academic interventions for students that are tailored specifically to their needs to increase student

achievement.

? Implement behavioral interventions for students to increase learning time and decrease time spent out of the

classroom.

? Participate and engage in individual coaching meetings, Professional Development, and Summer Professional Development with a positive attitude and growth mindset.

? Create and foster a positive, safe learning environment.

? Enforce school policies and maintain discipline in accordance with the school's guidelines.

? Perform administrative tasks as required such as attendance, grades, and reports.

? Provide assistance and support to students in understanding the subject matter.

? Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.

? Update records accurately and completely as required by laws and district policies.

? Supervise students during class and other activities to ensure their safety and well-being.

? Foster a positive and supportive classroom culture that promotes social and emotional development.

? Monitor behavior and address any issues that may arise among students.

? Uphold a high level of professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

? Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

? New York State teaching certification or licensure.

? 2 years teaching in an urban public school (traditional or charter) preferred but not required.

? Previous experience in early childhood or elementary education is advantageous.

? Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods and curriculum development.

? Adaptability and a willingness to contribute to the founding culture of the school.

? Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with young children.

? Positive attitude.

? Flexibility and willingness to take initiative.

? Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.
