Overview:

The Executive Associate Program is designed for 2nd year MBA students who seek to accelerate their career within M&T Bank. Program hires will undergo an immersive leadership experience designed to develop leadership competencies and strategic capabilities. Throughout the first year, the incoming cohort will be introduced to Program alumni, bank wide leadership, and collaborate with peers to drive change to support the vision and goals of the Bank.

Department Description:

The Strategy & Transformation division includes different centers of excellence that work collaboratively to develop and push Bank initiatives forward. As an Executive Associate within this role, you will support mission-critical projects, including but not limited to: assessing strategic growth opportunities – geographic, industry or product, putting together strategic roadmaps by identifying unmet or emerging client needs, refining client segmentation and/or client coverage models, understanding emerging trends or new entrants, assessing operating models, including redesign or automation, and supporting the creation of executive-level communications. You’ll collaborate on impactful projects and taking a consultative approach by using data trends to inform your planning process as you support your partners.

• Primary Responsibilities:

• Apply structured problem-solving and design thinking to address top strategic priorities

• Provide analytical expertise to support initiatives that may include planning, design and analysis of results, presenting content at various governance functions, development of comprehensive content and materials, analysis of complex data sets, or analysis/optimization of data structures.

• Consider stakeholder perspectives, address objections, help develop solutions, and drive action. Interact with senior management (internal/external) to obtain pertinent information.

• Lead effort to define scope/approach for department initiatives. May be responsible on an individual basis for directing complex, and highly visible projects for division

• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

• Complete other related duties as assigned

Scope of Responsibilities:

Perform project/management related assignments in field of expertise within the Executive Associate Program.

Education and Experience Required:

Completed MBA from an accredited business school.

Minimum two years professional, full time work experience.

Demonstrated leadership potential, as evidenced through previous work experience, extracurricular activities, or community involvement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically analyze complex business challenges

Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $171,000. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations. The pay rate specific to your location will fall within this range and is available from your recruiter.
