Wabtec is seeking a qualified Assembler Technician I-Bus Charging to join our team in Buffalo Grove, Illinois . The ideal candidate will Assemble and test multiple styles of front and rear bus door electrical and pneumatic actuators. Will need direct supervision from Team Lead and/or manager. Work from blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams and Process Standards Sheets (PSS), Team Leader and manager instructions.

Assembler Technician I-Bus Charging Job Responsibilities: (Partial List)

• Using pneumatic tools, hand tools, electric tools, and torque tools to attach and properly secure a wide variety of components and subassemblies to a base plate.

• Utilizes electrical testing equipment, insulation hi-pot test, electrical continuity test and contact force.

• Follows assembly drawings, Process Standard Sheet (PSS) instructions and verbal directions from Team Leader and supervisor.

• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

• Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5’s for your respective area and all of VBI.

• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Assembler Technician I-Bus Charging Skills/Qualifications: (Partial List)

• Have basic shop math skills, and ability to read and interrupt blueprints

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software.

Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical studies preferred; and one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
