Senior Manager, Digital Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

This is a hybrid position (3 days office, 2 days remote), based in Warsaw, Poland or in Budapest, Hungary.

What you’ll do:

The Operational Excellence Manager, is a key function within the IT Value Chain of Operating and Enabling and is responsible for driving real gains in productivity, sustainability, agility, and speed of service and program delivery. This role focuses on identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives, enhancing frictionless IT and user experience, and ensuring efficient IT operations. Additionally, the Manager will proactively solve problems, lead Business Process Improvement events, and manage the deployment of activities in accordance with Eaton's Continuous Improvement Strategy to meet business objectives.

Process Improvement and Cost Reduction:

  • Identify and implement process improvements, waste removal, and cost reduction across the Value Chain using Lean/Six Sigma strategies within Eaton's Business System (EBS) CIF framework by using the Bowler and Obeya metrics to achieve the customer satisfaction objective of 80% completely satisfied

  • Address gaps and inefficiencies, proposing solutions and managing improvement projects

Continuous Improvement (CI) Capability Building:

  • Enhance CI competencies, promote EBS tools, and foster a continuous improvement culture

  • Plan, facilitate, and execute CI events and training programs

  • Ensure development and maintenance of CI tools and materials

  • Improve efficiency and profitability by reducing waste and aligning with Eaton EQMS

Analysis and Implementation:

  • Lead the AS-IS analysis and compare with best practices to support implementation

  • Develop and standardize business processes and practices

  • Collaborate with Value Stream leaders to enhance standardized processes using lean techniques.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Share best practices with the IT Continuous Improvement team and present Operating & Enabling Value Chain (OEVC) results at monthly IT reviews

  • Maintain strong relationships and open communication with key IT Value Chain members

  • Oversee planning and execution of Sprints, retrospectives, and daily meetings

  • Remove impediments, mediate conflicts, assist in decision-making, and adhere to continuous improvement/Agile principles

  • Monitor and report on project statuses.

Digitalization:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for digitalization and automation

  • Develop reporting for CI and Quality programs and gather and prioritize reporting requirements, involving BI Analysts using agile scrum methodology

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing or another related field (Master's degree preferred)

  • Fluent Business English, written and spoken

  • Proven experience (ideally 7+ years) in leading and managing Lean 6 Sigma events

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with CI framework and Lean Tool set: Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Eaton Business System (EBS) Pull System, Standardized Work, 5S, etc.

  • Ability to identify and analyse risks

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

  • Solid in leading projects and managing different stakeholders

  • Strong executive presence with a proven track record leading and facilitating meetings

  • Ability to influence others, collaborate across functions and move toward a common vision or goal

  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics

  • Problem solving and root-cause identification skills

  • Able to work effectively at all levels of an organization
