Citigroup Oracle Functional Consultant in Budapest, Hungary

Citi has embarked on a multi-year Finance Transformation initiative to implement a new Global Financial Accounting and General Ledger platform that provides a daily ledger in every legal entity, linking ledger balances and contract level reconciliations to our daily settlement records and contractual commitments. The Strategic Ledger program as it is named, selected Oracle Cloud as the technology platform of choice, after a rigorous technical and functional assessment of the firm’s current ledger platforms against leading industry solutions. The new platform provides enhanced technical capability and supports our finance transformation strategy and realization of our Target Operating Model. The outcome will be a robust global process, governance, and controls to ensure consistent and materially accurate, complete, and timely ledger data and results.

The Oracle Functional Consultant is required to be part of the Strategic Ledger program. The consultant will play a key functional role in the implementation of Reporting and Analytics, Enterprise Data Management solutions for Citi ensuring an alignment of product functionality with business needs. The consultant will have a good understanding of EPM suite of applications gained from previous implementations of Oracle EPM or similar enterprise grade software e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud, S/4 HANA Group Reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides product knowledge and best practice guidance on Oracle’s EPM solutions particularly the Reporting and Analytics and Enterprise Data Management solution.

  • Supports functional lead in requirements gathering, fit gap analysis and solution design activities.

  • Prepares high quality business requirements and provides input and guidance on functional design documents.

  • Engages with technology teams to provide SME support on development of Citi solutions not met by Oracle out of the box capability.

  • Participates in test preparation activities, training material development and process documentation as required.

  • Works closely with Finance and program cross functional teams to support testing and business readiness activities.

Qualifications & skills:

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience with global corporations and financial services experience gained in Banking or in a consulting role.

  • Recent experience and knowledge of Oracle ERP modules. /Relevant Oracle or SAP expert certification will be an advantage./

  • Track record of substantial transformations with on-premise Oracle ERP (reporting is an advantage) or SAP Analytics Cloud, S/4 HANA Group Reporting.

  • Understanding of accounting concepts both US GAAP and IFRS, general ledger processes, Chart of Accounts design, and close, consolidation processes.

  • Good understanding of the regulatory and control requirements around Citi’s ledgers including ICOFR and SOX.

  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented and organized.

  • Pro-active problem-solver who works well in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

  • Growth mindset, seeking and implementing feedback and maintaining flexibility to pivot and course correct as needed.

Education:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management or related field is required; CPA or equivalent will be a differentiator

  • Fluency in English
