Job Summary
This position is responsible for the rationalization, planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to drive improved sustainable plant reliability. It requires hands-on supervision maintenance employees in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant equipment, buildings, machinery, etc. This position is responsible for both mechanical and electrical aspects of the operation. Will be a leader of Professional Maintenance oriented improvement projects in area of responsibility involving the incorporation of World Class Manufacturing techniques and principles into all maintenance systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for the safety of all Associates directly under his/her supervision through adherence with Company rules and guidelines, the collective bargaining agreement, and compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. Will follow and teach safety systems and procedures to employees and contractors. Will perform regular safety audits.
Responsible for selecting, training and scheduling technicians for work assignments.
Scheduling and monitoring assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities.
Performs administrative and record keeping duties.
Assist in setting departmental objectives.
Assist in the development and execution of the annual mechanical budget.
Continue to manage and improve the execution scheduling compliance.
Responsible to develop and execute the annual training plan for his direct report and all millwrights.
Provide a work environment that promotes individual growth.
Facilitates daily department meetings and documents.
Continuously track and report on mechanical maintenance expenditures during major overhauls and recommend corrective actions to maintain the department budget.

Build and ensure positive labor relations and compliance with the collective agreement. Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize plant downtime and maximize safety.
Ensure PM’s are accomplished in a timely manner and are to a high standard of quality
Work with Engineering and other functional areas with regards to any proposed changes using the change management system.
Plan, utilize and manage outside contractors as necessary.
Maintain, use and train CMMS system
Support and spread the use of WCM tools within the department.
Drive 5S in maintenance shop
Requirements
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, or equivalent field experience
Core competencies include a passion for detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, teaming skills, listening skills, ability to organize and retrieve information, and to handle people tactfully and effectively in situations involving various educational and employment levels.
Requires 3-5 years direct supervisory experience in an Industrial Environment
Requires proficient typing skills and to be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook/e-mail. Must be able to learn and effectively use local business systems and CMMS systems.
Experience in heavy equipment repair; experience in inspection an asset.
Optimize skills adequacy to jobs and ensure the transfer of technical know-how.
Proven experience in executing major work and plant shutdowns
Experience with Computerized Mechanical Maintenance System (CMMS).
Knowledge of problem solving techniques (Root Cause Failure Analysis, etc.)
Strong communicator (both oral & written).
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact with plant personnel.
Highly motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated commitment to achieving organizational and personal goals
Proven ability to work well in a team environment (co-workers, contractors, etc.)
Well organized and systematic.
Must be flexible to adapt to changing
Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $79,500 to $123,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,400 to $135,800. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
