Job Summary

Responsible for transporting cabinets and components, loading trailers at the factory, and unloading trailers at the jobsite.

Duties and Responsibilities

Transport cabinet parts and raw materials across town to and from manufacturing plants. This is an in-town driving position. You will be home every night. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items, safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance. Document and log work/rest periods, miles spent driving, and retain fuel/toll receipts. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Report defects, accidents, or violations.

Qualifications

Valid CDL Class A license. Must be able to drive a standard/manual transmission. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Proven work experience as a truck driver. Ability to drive long hours. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. No recent moving or driving violations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).

Essential Functions of the Job

Stand and walk up to twelve hours per day on concrete surfaces while loading and stacking cabinets in the factory. Physically carry and transport items long distances on varying terrains up to twelve hours per day at the job site. Must be able to lift, carry, and transport in excess of a hundred pounds frequently and repetitively for up to twelve hours a day. Frequently bend, stoop, reach grasps, twist, push, and pull items which range in excess of a hundred pounds. Frequently climb in and out of tractor and trailer while at the job site.

Must be able to have corrected vision to: 1. Assist with directions to job sites. 2. Use bill of ladings and summaries to load and unload items. 3. Be aware of surroundings and areas in which to stage/load components in the factory and in the field. 4. Assist the driver and perform various other duties.

Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers by phone or in-person. Must be mentally alert and capable of remembering oral instructions and routine tasks. Must be able to withstand fluctuations in temperature and environmental fluctuations. Must be able to transport items through mud, sleet, and rain. Must be able to work the required daily and weekly work hours as determined by the schedule. Good attendance and punctuality is necessary. Must pass a minimum competency test. Must exemplify through appearance and behavior the companys image of excellence. Must possess excellent customer relation skills. Must be alert and able to identify and respond to a hazard by either reporting it immediately, or by taking corrective measures if directed. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

A valid Class A CDL Driver's License is required due to driving being a key component of this position.
