Job Description: This position provides prompt face-to-face crisis assessment, crisis intervention services, and short term intensive mental health treatment and support for adults and children experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Provides services as a member of a mobile crisis outreach team (MCOT) designed to reach individuals at their place of residence, and other community based safe locations as a means of diversion from jails, emergency rooms and hospitals. The position also provides crisis consultation to all area hospitals, working closely with medical personnel to develop a plan of care. Duties include accompanying law enforcement to individuals home to provide crisis assessments and intervention; inter- and intra-agency coordination of support services; family education and support; and client advocacy in the community where client is located. Education: Requires bachelor's degree in behavioral, social science, or humanities field, educational psychology, or early childhood education or intervention. *Experience:Requires experience working with individuals with mental illness, must be able to work independently as well as with a team. Good organizational skills are necessary. *Hours of Work: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday with flexibility as needed to meet needs of clients and med clinic. *Crisis On Call required as agency need dictates. Licensure/Certification: Ability to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Valid Texas drivers license and are insurable by agency insurance. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA) certification as well as Illness, Management and Recovery certification. *Physical Requirements: Light lifting under 15lbs., moderate carrying 15-44lbs., simple grasping, walking, sitting, standing, operating a motor vehicle, operating office equipment including computer, ability to see and hear (with aid), ability to read, write, count, ability to maintain confidentiality, and the ability to work closely with others, ability to pass the Preventative Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) Training as well as all other physical requirements for this position. **Facility: 7 counties in Brazos Valley with primary office in Bryan
