About the role
What you need to know:
As a Claims Manager for Belgium, you will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the claims strategy, claims budget management and talent management development within the country, and in particular to:
Lead the implementation of the in-country claims strategy through initiatives that are aligned with cluster/international/EMEA strategic claims objectives and country business plans and priorities.
Work with the regional team on a variety of areas including large claims, claims trend data, succession planning, learning and development and talent management.
Represent AIG's interests with key clients and take responsibility for the development and implementation of the claims value proposition.
You will be responsible for the contribution of claims to the combined ratio in the context of claims management, ULAE, ALAE and operational expenses :
Monitor the country's operational, technical and quality performance and implement corrective and/or improvement actions, as appropriate, in collaboration with the business line managers and taking into account AQM recommendations.
Develop claims managers to maximize their reliance on outside assistance.
Set objectives and manage performance to achieve business goals.
Ensure that the cluster claims operate within the appropriate regulatory framework and protection of all licenses and agreements.
Adhere to and integrate the company's risk policies, Statement of Operating Standards and all AIG ERM policies, audits, controls and procedures.
Develop tools and strategies, in collaboration with HR, to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing teams.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in claims supervision in the property and casualty insurance industry.
Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, in Dutch and French. A good level in English is also required.
Proven ability and experience in building and managing successful teams.
Claims experience, preferably in commercial and consumer products.
Demonstrate an excellent understanding of claims trends and developments, and are able to identify loss trends and causes.
Identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements and is able to lead transformational projects.
