University of Maine System Aircraft Maintenance Technician School Assistant Program Manager in Brunswick, Maine
The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking an Assistant Program Manager to help lead our new Aircraft Maintenance Technician School (AMTS). This is a full-time, fixed-length appointment for two years. This is a soft money-funded position. The continuation of the position beyond this date is contingent upon funding and the needs of the university.
The AMTS Assistant Program Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the AMTS Program Manager in overseeing the Aircraft Maintenance Technician School. They will be responsible for assisting in curriculum delivery, ensuring program training is in compliance with related Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and university standards, managing day-to-day operations for the program, and fostering a conducive environment for our students. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to shape the future of aviation maintenance education and contribute to the success of our students.
The successful candidate will have experience with a wide range of aircraft maintenance and repair, electronics, FAA regulations, physics for AMTS, and mathematical functions. They may be required to teach classes when needed and travel to other UMA or University of Maine System (UMS) locations.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of aviation regulations and best practices, specifically Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders within the school and industry
Detail-oriented approach to maintaining accurate records and documentation
Enthusiasm for aviation education and a commitment to upholding high standards in training future aviation maintenance professionals
Required:
Associate degree or the equivalent combination of training, experience, and/or education
Three to five years of experience in the aviation industry, preferably in aircraft maintenance
Current FAA A&P Certification
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance or a closely related filed
Previous experience in training in an aviation-related context
Current FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) Certification
Salary: The normal hiring salary range for this position is in the low to mid-50s and is commensurate with training, education, and experience and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion.
