Hours: Full time; Monday thru Friday; flexible hours
Salary: $19.48 to $21.28 per hour; DOEEandQ

General Description:
Position is under the general supervision of the HCS/TxHmL and ICF Program Manager with latitude for independent judgment. Provides nursing coverage for the HC/TxHmL program. Responsibilities include administering and monitoring the use of medications, monitoring health data and information, assisting individuals to secure emergency medical services. Incumbent must also maintain records, arrange transportation. Performs health care procedures prescribed by a physician/medical practitioner and monitors tasks delegated to other service providers. Work requires aggressive intervention and close contact with individuals, families, and service providers. Work requires use of a Center vehicle and a flexible work schedule. Incumbent will be required to follow all regulations and standards of the TxHmL, HCS and ICF/Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Requires walking, lifting, bending, and the full range of physical and mental activities normally associated with care giving.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency is required and be licensed by the Texas State Board of Nursing to practice as a Licensed Vocation Nurse in the state of Texas. A minimum of one-year experience working with individuals with mental retardation is preferred. Experience with Medicaid waiver program preferred. Must possess competent computer skills in the area of Microsoft Word. Good communication and organizational skills are required. Must have a valid Texas drivers license and a driving record to comply with CFLR policy. If selected for this position, employee must give CFLR authorization to request copy of driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to pass required staff development training.
