SCL Health Patient Care Tech Regional Float Pool in Broomfield, Colorado

Job Description:The Certified Nurse Assistant functions as a clinical support partner to assist the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional.

This is a day shift position 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or night shift position 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

This position will float to all four (4) hospitals in the Denver metro area listed below.

Associates who join our Float Pool enjoy assignments at locations throughout the Denver area, and are placed in units like Critical Care, Medical Surgical, the Emergency Department and the Operating Room.

Our hospitals in the Denver area include: Good Samaritan Medical Center - Lafayette Lutheran Medical Center - Wheat Ridge Platte Valley Medical Center - Brighton Saint Joseph Hospital - Denver

Qualifications: $3.00/hr float differential Patient Care Technician / C.N.A. responsibilities: Respond to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting patients with hygiene care, obtaining vital signs, and communicating constructively, effectively and timely with members of the care team. Perform 12-lead EKG duties commensurate with the level of training received and competency. Apply, check and document restraints as directed by the RN or physician. Perform wound care, stoma care, and specimen collection. Perform equipment and tube care/management e.g. JP's, hemovacs and nasogastric tubes, and Foley removal. Assist with patient transfers, admissions and discharges as directed and in compliance with the principles of safe patient handling. Order and maintain office and patient care floor stock/supplies. Perform the duties of unit secretary. Maintain patient charts, respond to phone calls, maintain daily assignment board, provide equipment care/cleaning, perform errands associated with patient care and provide accurate information about the patient with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire (with prior approval) Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent At least two (2) years of experience as a CNA

Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry suppli s and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
