DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Technician, you will be tasked with performing accounting functions for the agency and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and county policies and procedures. You will be responsible for reviewing, posting, and coding all invoices and billing received as well as posting entries to proper ledgers. Maintaining accurate information and record-keeping is vital. Work includes monitoring cost analysis expenditures, budgetary information, and records of services procured through the department. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing quarterly and year-end fiscal reports and verifying the accuracy and completeness of all financial documents for compliance. You will have the opportunity to act as a liaison with the County Auditor and General Auditor to reconcile agency and county records. Attention to detail is essential as you will be maintaining the petty cash fund for the agency as well as preparing monthly reports for the Advisory Committee regarding the agency activities. Meetings with local and state agencies will be critical in order to implement changes as necessary.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Possible overtime may be required. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
