Aerotek Assembly Technician in Brookston, Indiana

Job Title: Assembly Technician

Job Description

Assembly technicians will assist in building metal frames of large switchboards in a production bay. The process starts at a workbench with a tape measure and blueprint. They will measure very carefully and mark metal materials before they are cut to size. This is a detail-oriented role and not primarily physical labor. After the initial measurements, they will move throughout the shop to gather raw materials such as sheet metal, aluminum, and copper to build the frame according to the blueprint. Once the materials are at their workstation, they will use hand tools to build the custom switchboard per customer requests and ensure the quality of the assembly. Once the assembly is completed, a wiring technician will use an electronic schematic to wire the switchboard correctly.
