Robert Half HR Generalist- hybrid- 3 days onsite in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

Description We are in search of a meticulous HR Generalist to be part of our team in the non-profit sector, based in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity, focusing on maintaining compliance, administering human resource programs, facilitating recruitment, and performing other HR-related tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the recruitment process, facilitating the hiring of suitable candidates for vacancies, and working closely with department managers to understand the skills and competencies required for different roles.

• Administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, performance and talent management, occupational health and safety, and training and development.

• Keep track of, review, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may encompass safety training, anti-harassment training, and detail oriented licensure.

• Carry out or secure background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

• Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

• Ensure adherence with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviewing policies and practices for compliance.

• Stay updated on trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

• Participate in new permanent orientation and employee wellness committee activities.

• Undertake any other duties as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in a non-profit organization

• Proficiency in Benefit Functions and Benefits Administration

• Demonstrated experience with Compliance and Compliance documentation

• Strong skills in Employee Relations and Employee Relations Investigations

• Knowledge of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) policies and procedures

• Experience in Recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Proficiency in using HR software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

• Knowledge of local and federal employment laws and regulations

• detail oriented certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
