Description of Duties:

  • Work closely AEP/PREP Project Staff to develop new advocacy, outreach, and prevention education materials for the PREP Initiative. - Attend training and seminars on community health, HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Disease, Teaching Skills and Evidence Based Programs. - Provide administrative support to the THEO staff and Peers, as needed. - Escort at risk teens to partnership clinics for HIV Counseling and Testing, Pregnancy Testing, medical services and STI testing. - Co-facilitate evidence based curriculum with staff. - Lead THEO Town Hall meeting/World Aids Day Event at SUNY Downstate Medical Center - Participate in STAR Community Advisory Board, BATES Youth Network, leadership group, and community boards. - Plan, Develop, Implement, and Monitor all social media outreach, including "The Chat". - Conduct recruitment for program (new members and community workshops).

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: High School Diploma with 1 year of experience or college student majoring in Public Health, Social Work, Education or Counseling. Must have an interest in sexual health, HIV prevention or community outreach. PREFERRED: Must possess clerical skills, trainings and workshop development. Must have some knowledge of Social Media platforms and youth advocacy.
