Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Tax Preparer to join our team based in Brooklyn, New York. As a Tax Preparer, you will be involved in the preparation of tax returns, utilizing various accounting software systems, and ensuring all financial transactions are in compliance with the regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns for individuals or small businesses using relevant accounting software systems.

• Utilize 'CCH ProSystem Fx' and 'ADP - Financial Services' to ensure efficient and accurate tax preparation.

• Handle customer inquiries, providing excellent customer service to resolve issues and answer questions related to their tax returns.

• Conduct data entry tasks to maintain and update customer records in the database.

• Use 'Drake Tax Software' for tax preparation, ensuring compliance with current tax laws.

• Monitor customer accounts for discrepancies and take appropriate action when necessary.

• Understand and apply knowledge about allowances and deductibles in tax preparation.

• Perform various accounting functions as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Utilize 'CCH Sales Tax' for the accurate calculation and application of sales tax in tax returns.

• Ensure all customer information is kept confidential and secure, adhering to data privacy regulations. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Proficient in using Drake Tax Software

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions effectively

• Knowledge of Allowances in tax preparation

• Strong customer service skills

• Excellent data entry skills

• Understanding of tax Deductibles

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and answer their queries

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus

• Familiarity with the latest tax laws and regulations.
