Job Title: Overnight Medical Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory to Technology. This role requires experience in hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and reading differentials. ASCP certification is preferred but not required as long as the candidate has a full New York State MLT license.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the assigned station.

• Understand the principles of tests performed and possess working knowledge of the equipment used in the assigned station.

• Specifically work in hematology, responsible for urinalysis, coagulation, and spinal counts.

• Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage.

• Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results.

• Recognize critical or life-threatening results, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician.

• Document all results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Essential Skills

• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory to Technology.

• Experience in hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and reading differentials.

• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow quality control policies.

• Ability to recognize and respond to critical or life-threatening results.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ASCP certification is preferred.

• Experience in clinical laboratory settings.

• Strong documentation skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00
