Responsibility:

Track Inspection Oversight:

  • Audit Division of Track, Walking Track Inspections performed by Track Inspector Specialists.

  • Ensure compliance with track safety/flagging rules and Track Inspection policies and procedures.

  • Make timely and sound policy decisions in the absence of the manager.

  • Coordinate, delegate, and communicate effectively during emergency situations.

  • Review MOW Engineering Video Inspections and compare with Track Inspector walking inspections.

  • Provide guidance to Maintenance Supervisors and T/Is on MW-I Track Standards, track defects, INFOR, track safety, and track flagging protection.

  • Conduct job site safety audits, track flagging audits, and facility inspections to ensure compliance with safety rules and policies.

  • Generate clear, concise, and informative reports on audit findings, incident investigations, and program evaluations.

  • Effectively communicate findings to various audiences, including executives.

    On-Site Audits and Inspections:

  • Assess work sites, flagging procedures, and overall adherence to safety protocols.

  • Inspect Subway Facilities, Shops, and Yards to identify and mitigate hazards.

    Safety Guidance and Support:

  • Provide guidance to DOS employees on safety-related topics.

  • Clarify safety rules, NYC Transit flagging procedures, and interpret safety policy instructions.

    Emergency Response:

  • Actively participate in emergency response efforts around the clock, both on and off the right of way.

  • Coordinate with field personnel and supporting divisions to ensure effective communication and resource utilization.

  • Gather information, conduct investigations, and prepare comprehensive incident reports.

  • Assist the Manager with daily operations, including communications, tour scheduling, and manpower allocation.

Maintenance Supervisor II (Track) Salary Range:

1st Entrance $110,381

2nd Year $111,951

3rd Year $115,888

Desired Skills:

The applicant must be familiar with maintenance responsibilities and organization chain of command, Microsoft Word, Excel, and INFOR data inputting and retrieval. Applicants who previously held T/I certification is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of existing MW-1 Track Standards and Procedures .

  • Three (3) years of employment in a supervisory capacity.

  • Current Track Flagging certification.

    Education and Experience:

    Five years of full-time - satisfactory experience working for a major railroad or transit authority installing, maintaining, and repairing track; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
