Shelby Electrical Corp Electrical Engineer in Brooklyn, New York
Perform and coordinate assigned electrical engineering projects/activities under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer. Analyze designs/plans provided to value engineer and draft shop drawings. Design drawings that comply with the National Electrical Code. Work closely alongside MEP engineers, architects, and project managers to determine project specifications and functional requirements. Work with subcontractors and suppliers to run feasibility tests on value engineering options. Attend pre-construction meetings to understand the logistics and scope of work to be completed as well as the progress of the estimating process. Calculate Change Orders associated with a project. Perform MEP coordination in AutoCAD or Navisworks. Review bid documents, and development of RFIs. Understand the scope of work and customer requirements to develop a proposal in line with the desired project outcome. Survey and evaluate electrical systems for installation. Coordinate with the Field team and Technical team for any needed information. Provide project cost estimates and proposals for discussion and review with Install Management. Perform timely and professional submission and review of submittals. Coordinate with the project management and field operation team to relay information captured during the value engineering phase as well as reviewing job approach and implementation. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Must have 2 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer. Experience in construction software management, blueprint reading, electrical service equipment, AutoCAD, Revit; and experience in tools: Excel Word, Teams, Bluebeam, required. Proficiency in AC power, power distribution, computer-aided design, and knowledge of 3 phase and single phase applications, current voltage and power fundamentals and power (load) calculations, required. 40 hours: M-F: 9am-5pm.
