How you can make a bigger difference:

Facilitates the day-to-day operations of the Mishkon Day Habilitation program. Using the Person Centered Planning approach, the Day Habilitation Manager will develop and coordinate activities for individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities both on and off site in order to provide an enriching day time environment. The Day Habilitation Manager will hire and supervise Day Habilitation staff, known as Habilitation Support Professionals (HSP) and liaise with clients, advocates and other service providers on an ongoing basis for continuity of support.

Qualifications:

  • BA required, or Master's degree preferred and 3-5 years' working with the intellectually/developmentally disabled population.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, work well with people and have excellent computer skills.
  • Demonstrated success working with the I/DD population and knowledge of Jewish Culture and Heritage. Excellent English oral and written communication skills necessary.

Key Essential Functions:
  • Develops a meaningful curriculum for each client and group on a weekly basis in order to enhance current functioning and satisfaction as part of a member of the wider community.
  • Collaborates and hosts Day Habilitation program meetings twice a year to develop plans with the individual, their advocates, and the residential interdisciplinary team.
  • Develops and writes the Day Habilitation Plan and Checklist that details client goals and documents progress.
  • Provides support to the HSP through training, instructing and mentoring.
  • Reviews and approves OPWDD daily and monthly summary documentation completed by the HSP for quality, accuracy and consistency. The Manager submits billing to the Fiscal department on a monthly basis.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, and payroll functions for the HSP, including timesheet review and time off requests.
  • Evaluates each HSP competency in the service environment at least annually, through the formal agency process.
