TITLE: Accounting Manager, US & MexicoJOB DUTIES: Responsible for oversight of external accounting firm based in Mexico. Supervise Senior Accountant(s) based in Brooklyn. Perform controllership of US GAAP obligations including month end close, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting requirements for Etsy Mexico, Etsy US and Etsy Canada. Responsible for supervision and review of local Statutory compliance, including: management of audit and preparation of Financial Statements ensuring compliance with local legislation. Responsible for global equity-based compensation accounting in accordance with ASC 718. Assist in the preparation and review of grant-date fair value calculations, quarterly stock-based compensation expense and option exercise schedules and journal entries. Perform oversight of resolution of payroll related issues in a timely manner. Coordinate with global and regional payroll operation teams regularly for process improvements and maintenance of proper controls. Review of regular financial statement flux variance analysis for management reporting. Provide support to the 10-Q, 10-K, S-8 and Proxy reporting process, including reviewing financial statement footnotes and review of compensation-related disclosures. Review tie-out of proxy tables and disclosures. Drive continuous improvement including: reengineering processes and controls and implementing global standards. Collaborate cross-functionally with, and support our business partners including HR, Payroll, Tax, Treasury, AP, Strategic Finance and Legal by providing financial insights and relevant reporting Responsible for ad-hoc projects / tasks. Remote Position.REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Accounting, or related field, and 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Director & Founder, or related occupation. Requires 5 years of experience with a technology and/or public firm. Requires 3 years of professional working proficiency in Spanish. Requires 3 years of experience in/with compliance requirements within Latin America. Requires 3 years of experience in/with Microsoft Excel and exposure to Workday or other ERP system. Requires 2 years of experience reviewing US GAAP stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718. Requires 2 years of people management experience. Requires experience in/with: Mexican payroll taxes.
