TEKsystems Academic Systems Admin in Brooklyn, New York
Description:
• Assist in assessing and developing specifications for procuring the appropriate technology to support the College’s academic departments, with a focus on integrating systems such as Canvas, Ellucian Colleague, YuJa, MS Teams, Transact, and Touchnet. • Install, configure, and maintain academic systems/servers and services, ensuring seamless operation of the LMS and related academic applications. • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for system implementations and configurations, including user guides for Canvas and other academic platforms. • Support the College’s efforts in creating end-user training materials and documentation, particularly for faculty and academic personnel, ensuring effective utilization of tools like Canvas and YuJa. • Collaborate with and support end users to address their needs related to the administered systems, providing timely solutions and fostering a user-friendly environment. • Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to optimize user experience and system functionality. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience preferred. • At least 3 years of related work experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. • Proficiency in systems administration of Microsoft servers and desktop operating systems in a networked environment is required. • Strong working knowledge of networking, Active Directory, VMware virtualization applications, and network-attached storage. • Familiarity with major learning management systems (LMS), specifically Canvas, as well as academic applications such as Ellucian Colleague, YuJa, MS Teams, Transact, and Touchnet. • Basic knowledge of common database management and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PowerShell) is desirable. • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with faculty, administration, students, and external resources in a diverse environment. • Culturally sensitive, demonstrating an understanding and appreciation of a multicultural college community. • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
