We are offering an opportunity for a Senior Staff Accountant in Greater Boston., Massachusetts. This role is pivotal to the accounting operations of our organization. We are seeking a self-motivated, experienced Sr. Staff Accountant to take over our client's month-end closing and reconciliation process. You will be a hands-on partner to their CFO and play a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization. The successful candidate may also take on additional responsibilities in billing and payroll management.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial statement closings

• Producing periodic financial reports

• Ensuring cash accounts are maintained by recording of daily activities and transactions are recorded and reconciled

• Working closely with various personnel to resolve billing payment issues

• Supervising and directing the Accounts Payable/Payroll Accountant to ensure accurate processing

• Assisting in the preparation of timely and accurate annual audit work-papers and schedules

• Complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

• Assisting the CFO in creating and maintaining standard operating procedures to create efficiencies

  Requirements

Requirements:

• 5-7+ years of accounting experience

• BS in accounting

• Strong systems skills, advanced Excel, and analytical skills

• Experience in nonprofit or education preferred

• Previous experience with handling the monthly close

• Experience with AR, Billing, and Account reconciliations

• Payroll experience preferred but not required

This is a full-time, in-office position, offering a competitive salary (between $85-95K), generous time off policy for all federal and company-specific holidays, as well as a solid benefits program that includes 403B, 4% match contribution after 2 years, health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
