. Conduct outreach to meet enrollment Engage participants through dialogue and activity in a creative and nurturing manner Assist Health Educators with weekly workshops for participants on various subjects from the BPBR curriculum. Assist Health Educators with escorting and providing supervision for participants as needed Assist Health Educators with daily functions and operations (usually identified by Health Educators on how best they should be utilized) Assist Health Educators in creating and maintaining an appropriate learning environment Administrative tasks as identified by the Health Educator Supervisor Assist site with conflict resolution, crowd control and proper referrals to the appropriate staff Attend all staff meetings to ensure full knowledge of the program philosophy and mission Set a high caliber, role model standard for program participants, including wearing appropriate dress Maintain a positive, energetic, and supportive attitude with participants and co-workers Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Students in pursuit of a bachelors degree preferred Previous work experience in a community center setting strongly desired Interest and experience in youth development, creating and leading interactive educational activities is strongly preferred Knowledge of effective classroom management strategies is a must Available to work Evening hours and some Saturdays A genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people including students, school staff and parents Passion, a good sense of humor and a sincere desire to help the community
