Fedcap Work Readiness Facilitator in Bronx, New York

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Project Director, the Work Readiness Facilitator is responsible for facilitating life skills, work readiness, and financial empowerment training to HERO Dads participants as well as coordinating with other HERO Dads staff to ensure that job-ready participants are referred to positions that match their skills and abilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop life skills, work readiness, and financial literacy training curriculum.

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual work readiness groups of a maximum of 25 participants at any given time to motivate and prepare participants for employment.

  • Consult with program case management and employment services staff regarding curriculum and training needs.

  • Work with job development staff in identifying job-ready individuals for employment opportunities.

  • Ensure that all on-site and virtual attendance and engagement is accurately recorded.

  • Liaise with appropriate staff to ensure that all missed appointments are properly accounted for in a timely manner and that all absences are accurately recorded.

  • Comprehensively document all services provided to individual participants.

  • Work flexible schedules, including days or evenings. Some evening work is involved.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or related field, such as psychology, vocational rehabilitation, or occupational rehabilitation preferred.OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience

  • Minimum two (2) years of prior group teaching or training experience, of which at least one (1) year must have been with adult students.

  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) candidates preferred.
