Homes for the Homeless Operations Associate- Williamsbridge in Bronx, New York

OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Operations Associate to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Operations Associate for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Williamsbridge area of the Bronx. As the Operations Associate, you will play a pivotal role in our organization by working directly with Directors and Coordinators within the facilities to help oversee programs and assist in monitoring staff operations and working closely with the Family Residences Administration team. The Operation Associate will be responsible for consulting with the Administration and safety personnel to resolve problems and ensure that incidents are reported accurately, through internal and external reporting. Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Facility Administrator, Assistant Administrator for Security, and Building Operations Supervisor when issues arise.

  • Partner with the Facility Administrator while working with outside agencies including but not limited to FDNY, NYPD, ACS, and DHS. In addition, act as the liaison to agencies when the Facility Administrator is not present

  • Ensure that incidents are reported accurately, as well as internal and external reporting.

  • Communications with the executive staff and leadership at other facilities, including Central Office.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously and comfortable taking on responsibility

  • Able to maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Sensitivity and awareness while working with homeless and vulnerable populations.
