Enrollment Registrar Specialist
POSITION DETAILS
Lehman College is seeking a Record Auditor for Aid and Sponsored Program, reporting to the Director of Financial Aid. In addition to the CUNY Title
Overview, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• This role will conduct audits of students’ degree requirements who are eligible for state aid to assist with
certification process. This review will consist of identifying students’ bankable credits for Excelsior, confirm
graduation status for Penultimate Semester Exception (PSE), and Last Semester Exception (LSE).
• The Record Auditor for Aid and Sponsored Program will be responsible for the graduation audit review
of all sponsored programs for students in their final year. The sponsored programs include the review of
students in the Adult Degree Program (ADP), SEEK Program, ACE, Lehman Scholars, and Macaulay
Honors programs. They will provide a graduation update to these students to include recommendations
if there is a concern.
• Every term/session, this role will audit the records of students who have applied for graduation and code
them as needed in CUNYfirst. This coding allows for transparency between the student and the Record
Auditor for Specialized Programs.
• After the conferral process of students’ records, this role will assign Latin Honors to qualifying
candidates in CUNYfirst as well as add the appropriate transcript comments such as Social Work
licensure or Macaulay Honors.
• On a semester basis, conduct a course review for degree requirements for students eligible for TAP/PTAP
and communicate their findings to the Financial Aid Office.
• This role will maintain student records to correct discrepancies in biographical and demographic data as
well as confirming student’s program plan/subplan/minor for DegreeWorks accuracy.
• This role will identify and address CUNYfirst record inaccuracies (CUNY F-Policy, Transfer Credit Errors,
Student Group maintenance).
• This role will collaborate with the Scholarships Office to identify and confirm students’ financial aid eligibility
for the awarding of relevant scholarships. This review consists of; confirmation of financial aid eligibility,
insurance that aid packaging does not exceed cost of attendance, and fulfillment of graduation requirements.
• This role will identify and address CUNYfirst record inaccuracies (CUNY F-Policy, Transfer Credit Errors,
Student Group maintenance).
• The Record Auditor for Aid and Sponsored Programs will assign CUNYfirst enrollment appointments to
students whose graduation applications were cancelled, enabling them to enroll in the following
term/session.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Administers College registration operations under management direction.
Coordinates registration services such as grade collection entries and changes, publication of semester course offerings, final examination schedules, classroom scheduling and requests for student information
Promotes policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations; advises College personnel regarding the development and implementation of responses to regulatory changes
Oversees the conformity of record release procedures to management policies and legal requirements, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable laws and regulations governing the confidentiality of student records
Creates and reviews student communications from the Registrar's Office; ensures transcript and Degree verification requests are handled in a timely manner
Recommends and implements improvements to office operations; assists with strategic planning
Prepares reports and analyses on registration activities
May train faculty and staff on retention techniques, record-keeping protocol and/or registration systems
May supervise office operations and/or department budget
Performs related duties as assigned.
