Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional driver to operate a box truck and make commercial deliveries throughout the NYC area. This position involves driving a refrigerated truck, using a hand truck for deliveries, and occasionally working with a helper on heavy routes. The driver is responsible for delivering orders to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time frame, providing excellent customer service, and reporting any issues such as lateness, damaged, or missing products to supervisors and dispatchers.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 26-foot box truck to make commercial deliveries throughout NYC.

• Operate a refrigerated truck and use a hand truck for deliveries.

• Lift and deliver orders weighing up to 50 pounds to the appropriate destination.

• Provide professional customer service during deliveries.

• Report any issues such as lateness, damaged, or missing products to supervisors and dispatchers.

• Communicate clearly and read in English.

• Work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts including mornings and/or evenings.

• Load and unload the truck as necessary.

• Complete all basic and recurring training.

• Utilize smartphones for two-way communication with the Operations Team.

• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a strong commitment to safety.

Essential Skills

• 6 months of delivery experience driving a box truck larger than 16 feet long.

• 1-2 years of recent commercial truck driving experience.

• Motor vehicle requirement compliance.

• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

• Customer service experience.

• Comfortable loading and unloading the truck.

• Ability to work flexible shifts.

• Capability to deliver orders up to 50 lbs in weight to the appropriate destination.

• Strong communication skills in English.

• Experience using smartphones for communication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working at FedEx or UPS is a plus.

• DOT card (will be provided if not already possessed).

• Experience driving a box truck.

• Commitment to customer service and safety.

Work Environment

You will be on the road making deliveries throughout NYC, experiencing all weather conditions. This role requires making deliveries 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. Safety protocols are enforced, including mandatory hand washing, temperature checks, wearing masks, social distancing, and using provided gloves and sanitizers. Our trucks are sanitized daily, and partitions are installed for two-man routes to ensure safety. Touchless delivery is part of our preventative measures to limit close contact.
