Position Summary:**

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services reports to the Senior Director of Youth Empowerment Programs. The Assistant Director leads the clinical services and program implementation in collaboration with Lifeset, Office of Victim Services, Mental Health, and Court Involved Initiative programs to implement a cohesive program service model for youth, adults, and families. The Assistant Director works with coaches, social workers, and case management staff to provide services to ensure youth and families' therapeutic needs are met through training and other implementation services. The Assistant Director works with the clinical service supervisor and Lifeset program fidelity model to develop individual service plans to ensure youth and family’s needs and individual goals are achieved with the goal of youth and youth adults achieving independence and self-sufficiency.

STRATEGY:The Assistant Director of Clinical Service will support YEP Clinical staff and Lifeset Specialist to help youth and young adults set and achieve individual goals and objectives. By working with all YEP supervisors, senior directors, and staff, the Assistant Director creates a comprehensive model of assessment, goal planning, and continuous evaluation to ensure youth/young adults achieve individual goals and objectives as they move towards independence.

Essential Duties:

SUPERVISION OF CLINICAL STAFF:

  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Supervision of program staff.

  • Provide supervision and support to the clinical team to ensure they are working effectively with youth and adults in the achievement of their goals as defined by their individual service plans.

  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the team, including weekly facilitation of supervision meetings; including direct case revision, clinical recommendations, and staff development.

  • Provide trainings and professional development to staff.

  • Conduct field supervision to ensure staff competency and fidelity to program models.

  • Provide crisis intervention management and support to staff as needed.

SERVICE PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTATION:

  • Develop a comprehensive case management process with other YEP staff to ensure youth needs are being met; coordinate with the Employment Program to ensure the overall success of youth.

  • Maintain service plan systems and processes to help clinical staff work with youth/young adults in developing and progressing through their individual service plans.

  • Track and monitor progress notes and clinical records of staff to ensure quality assurance compliance.

  • Support staff with training and ongoing use of the clinical database to inform treatment plans.

ASSESSEMENT AND REPORTING:

  • Implement youth intake process to effectively assess youth to determine the development of appropriate case plans.

  • Track, monitor, and report the change and achievement of goals through plans in Evolv, GuideTree, and Care4.

  • Implement a program evaluation process to support the continuous improvement and program adherence goals of the program.

  • Develop reports and outcomes for government and private contracts that support the clinical services of YEP.

  • Plan, prepare, and present monthly data on program outcomes to ensure program compliance, share strengths and areas of development to support program advancement.


PROGRAM ACTIVITIES AND GROUPS

  • Develop groups and pro-social activities, trips, and appropriate support groups.

  • Create systems to increase parental engagement and support families including support groups.

  • Work with administrative staff to create a calendar of activities.

  • Support staff in hosting and executing center events.

PROGRAM OUTREACH AND RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

  • Collaborate with CAS Foster Care and other CA youth services programs to develop strategies to engage youth in programming.

  • Share information about the progress and activities of the center.

  • Collaborate with adolescents, Health and Wellness to bring resources to YEP.

  • Support fundraising activities of the center.

  • Attend professional conferences and trainings, as needed.

  • Involved in hiring and performance management of the team.

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule; within the hours of operation of the Next Generation Center.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: **

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education, or equivalent degree in any NYS license-eligible Mental Health profession.

  • Professional NY State Licensure (LMSW, LMHC, LCSW)

  • 5+ years supervisory experience.

  • 4+ years’ experience working with underserved populations.

  • Demonstrated commitment to a youth-centered approach to working with system-involved youth.

  • Capacity for creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, and violence prevention.

  • Ability to manage and supervise multiple programs

  • Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge in managing government contracts and budgets, including expertise in program contract compliance.

  • Knowledge of City, State, and Federal juvenile justice and foster care systems, policies, and issues.

  • Overall understanding of working with evidence-based models.

  • Effective interpersonal oral, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Training and experience in Motivational Interviewing and/or Restorative Practices a plus.

  • Knowledge of Evolv, Care4, Connection, GuideTree, and or other data tracking/performance management systems.

  • Results-oriented with a drive for continuous program evaluation and improvement.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required.

  • Pursue everything with energy and drive; ability to Lead and guide others for results

  • Be positive, hardworking, patient, and friendly, with a sense of humor.
