Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry in BRONX, New York. This role involves maintaining financial records and processing payroll, as well as handling other accounting and clerical duties on site.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and process payroll for Affordable Housing division

• Handle all aspects of Affordable Housing account payable process

• Prepare, review, and post journal entries for Affordable Housing general ledger

• Maintain Excel worksheets for Affordable Housing division

• Reconcile Affordable Housing accounts and tenant savings on a monthly basis

• Generate monthly reports related to Affordable Housing

• Verify Profit & Loss statements against approved budgets for Affordable Housing

• Prepare check register report for Affordable Housing to upload to Positive Pay

• Assist in audits and preparation of CFR schedules

• Perform other accounting and clerical duties as required. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry

• Proficiency in general accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Experience with financial reporting and creating financial statements

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

• Knowledge of healthcare industry's regulations and financial standards

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• High ethical standards and professionalism in dealing with confidential information.
