Oracle Senior Software Engineer in BRNO, Czech Republic

Job Description

Team

  • The NetSuite team in Brno, ERP Taxes , develops core API and Tax Engine applications for the NetSuite ERP.

  • We cover taxes worldwide.

  • The team works with a high degree of responsibility, coupled with a high degree of freedom of how to get the job done.

  • We work on the whole application stack, from DB to front end. Our main language is Java with elements of SQL and JavaScript/TypeScript.

What will you do

  • You will work closely with your fellow Software Engineers and Product Managers teammates throughout the development cycle.

  • We expect you to resolve challenging software architecture and design tasks, mentor less experienced teammates, and actively participate in code reviews .

  • You will oversee the quality of the code and product itself. And of course, you will code .

Technologies

  • NetSuite Core is written in Java 17 (back-end).

  • Tax engine is written in JavaScript.

  • Oracle DB is the main persistence layer.

  • The UI uses internal JavaScript framework and REST to communicate with the back end.

Required Skill

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in developing complex software systems and applications.

  • OOP – strong expertise preferably in Java or other OOP language.

  • Solid knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.

  • JavaScript or TypeScript knowledge is a plus.

  • With our focus on teamwork, good communication skills are needed.

  • English – you should be able to express yourself well in English.

  • Enthusiastic about automated testing .

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
