ZRS, Canada is currently looking for a Director Business Development, ZRS Canada to provide expert advice to significant customer(s) and/or development of Strategic Business Unit /Shared Service Unit strategic plans to enhance opportunities and reduce business risk.

Reporting to the Head of National sales, ZRS you will add value by identifying need to modify Strategic Business Unit /Shared Service Unit policies, programs or services and develop cost-effective proposals.

What you will do:

• Responsible for sales targets: Seek new and renewal account opportunities and quarterbacks a team of sales specialists and underwriter resources to facilitate closing the opportunity.

• Conduct discussions with distributors to develop a detailed and accurate distributor profile.

• Complete and maintain detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.

• Create business plans with key distributors that leverages the organization's broad range of insurance products and services.

• Build strong business relationships at multiple levels of the distributor´s organization.

• Conduct regular sales calls with distributor with frequency aligned to opportunity and need.

• Work with Business Units to execute distributor business plans.

• Conduct periodic reviews with distributors, manages their performance to ensure execution of the business plan.

• Qualify accounts to meet with the organization's appetite.

• In partnership with underwriter, negotiate to close accounts with distributors.

• Drive and manage process to increase the organization's product density at existing accounts.

• Build internal relationships with organizational Business Units to facilitate a unified face to market.

• Serve as the escalation point for distributor on service and business.

• Manage sales pipeline.

• Achieve goals related to sales calls, submissions, hit ratios, and production.

• Effectively execute sales strategies and campaigns.

What you bring to the table:

Job Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Sales area.

OR

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Sales area.

OR

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Sales area.

AND

• Leadership experience of multidisciplinary teams internally and externally.

Preferred:

• Insurance industry experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The salary range provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Compensation may exceed the range listed based on the evaluation of skillset and experience. The starting salary range for this position is $120,000-$160,000.
