My client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Bristow, Virginia. This role is responsible for the full cycle of accounting functions from accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial accounting (accrual based), and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Sage 300 or Timberline. There is no remote flexibility for this position at this time.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular reconciliations of all trial balance accounts to ensure their accuracy.

• Actively participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Prepare detailed reports on accounting matters for presentation to management.

• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

• Oversee payroll functions ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) activities, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

• Utilize Sage 300 software for various accounting tasks.

• Maintain accurate and complete financial records.

• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience with at least 1 in a Senior Accountant role or similar

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Construction or commercial property management industry experience is a must.

• Proficiency in performing balance sheet reconciliations (including bank reconciliations) is required

• Familiarity with Sage 300 (formerly Timberline) or Yardi or MRI is a must

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

• Superior organizational skills to manage large volumes of financial data

• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) is highly preferred but not a must.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently

• Must adhere to strict confidentiality in regard to financial data

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
