Why this role matters

Mobile Broadband Network Ltd (MBNL) is the joint venture between EE Ltd and Hutchison 3 (UK) Ltd who run and maintain BT/EE’s Radio Access Network. In this role, you will provide financial direction to the operational teams that you support, and you will be a Finance representative for BT into MBNL.

You will support the transformation journey that MBNL is on whilst ensuring delivery of demanding financial performance. Specifically, you will partner with the Network Services Leadership Team and the MBNL Board directors owning the critical Networks and pan-BT objectives such as supporting the roll out of 5G, Health & Safety of the Network and enabling vendor swap activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Challenge the business to drive sustainable value proactively through informed and insightful decision making, and provide financial business partnering within Network Services

  • Set the forecast and budget for the assigned units making recommendations that have a tangible impact on business performance

  • Own capex and opex prioritisation, financial authority on efficiency and investment programmes, as well as all internal/external commercial opportunities across the units

  • Manage and drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the assigned units for all financial statements.

  • Ensure reporting information is provided in a timely and accurate manner to inform strategic decision making within the unit

  • Drive a data-led and insight orientated culture, ensuring high quality data sets for decision making are available for the operational and other teams

  • Work collaboratively with the assigned units to underpin and deliver efficiencies and cost transformation initiatives

  • Supporting the development of the offshore colleagues who collaborate closely with the role

  • Active member of the MBNL Steering Group – setting the direction of travel for MBNL, holding them accountable and discussing both financial & Non-financial matters

The skills you'll need

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)

  • A track record of effectively influencing senior stakeholder requirements.

  • Strength of driving a customer centric approach in all financial processes.

  • Experience of financial management and delivery of improved financial performance.

  • Strategic capability and commercial awareness.

  • Collaborative approach to problem solving.

  • Able to translate complex financial outcomes to senior financial and non-financial stakeholders through both oral and written communication.

  • Comfortable working with complexity and able to use initiative to deal with ambiguity, identify resources to implement and determine pragmatic solutions
