We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer / Senior Civil Engineer to join our Development Infrastructure team in Bristol. We’ve built a great reputation over the years and now we look forward to a period of further expansion ahead as we grow our presence in the South West and beyond.

Our Bristol office is situated in the beautiful Queen Square, at the heart of the city centre—just a short walk away from the stunning harbourside and Temple Meads train station. Here, we have a friendly, close-knit team that work on a diverse range of projects from local community infrastructure schemes to large national infrastructure projects.

We are involved in various major development projects in Bristol and the surrounding area including Gravity, Filton Airfield and YTL Brabazon, YTL Arena, Horizon 38, The Vale, Bedminster Green, Bristol Airport and Bristol Temple Meads Station—to name but a few. You will play an important role within our team. You will support the production of drainage/highway designs and provision for all types and scales of development projects including national, local authority and private clients. You will assist in securing S278/S38 and S104 technical approvals. You will work with Engineer and Technician colleagues in the effective delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines.

You will liaise with the internal and external clients and design teams on projects and be involved in the delivery and management of successful and timely outcomes.

About you

You will be degree qualified in civil engineering or similar and professionally qualified to either CEng or IEng. You will be focused on achieving coordinated solutions, a tactical thinker and effective at communicating with both internal and external parties (for example utility companies, drainage authorities, highway authorities).

Ideally, you will have expertise in infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle – from concept and planning through to detailed design and delivery; highway design and on-site supervision experience is preferable. You will have a proven record of delivering projects closely with clients across technical disciplines and experience of mentoring and managing the workload of junior team members. Skills with Civils 3D, AutoCAD, Keysigns/lines/post, DMRB/MfS/LTN1/20 design, infodrainage, MicroDrainage and utility coordination are advantageous.

Your passion for civil engineering and experience of delivering quality solutions to clients is most crucial to your success in this role.
