About the opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

As a Cost Engineer you will support the PCM or IPC Cost Manager in the implementation and maintenance of Integrated Project Controls processes for Cost, including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis. Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls, as well as other Project Support Functions, to help deliver Project goals in keeping with the HPC principles of Trust, Transparency and Teamwork. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Produce and maintain accurate cost and cash forecasts in alignment with the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS)

  • Accurately maintain all cost data for the Programme within the financial control system (EcoSys), including monthly ACWP calculations

  • Co-ordinate and produce cost reports to a defined reporting cycle

  • Assist in the accurate assessment of EAC

  • Assist in the Trend & Change process, including production of Project Change Reports, analysis of cost impact and provision of feedback on areas of risk and opportunities

  • Review, acceptance and integration of cost estimates and forecasts provided by Tier 1 Contractors and suppliers

  • Assist with analysis of earned value and adhere to Project governance and Cost standards and procedures

  • Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with policies and procedures

  • Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related field

  • Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Cost role

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related field

  • Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status

  • Experience in the use of cost management software systems such as EcoSys

  • Experience on a major construction project and experience in the Nuclear sector
