Robert Half's home furnishings distribution client in Brisbane is seeking a bright and enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join their finance team. You will play a crucial role in supporting their day-to-day accounting operations and contribute directly to the financial health of the company. You'll work closely with the Senior accountant and have the chance to learn from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.

• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.

• Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

• Prepare and analyze financial reports.

• Assist with audits and tax preparations.

• Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

• Identify and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency.

• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply!).

• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced skills preferred).

• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) is a plus.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
