Job Description Summary

The GE Catalyst PSE Staff Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.

Catalyst Product Support Staff Engineer will provide technical support for GE Catalyst entry into service including engine manuals management, maintenance program development, service readiness and overhaul readiness activities. With further development of the program, provide technical support for the product in service.

In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term program objectives.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the product during preparation for entry into service and support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, instructions for continued airworthiness management, service bulletin implementation, Monitoring & Diagnostics, fleet configuration, Maintenance of fleet data, outage management, identification of leading indicators.

  • Own and maintains the ICA documents for assigned hardware's (ATA’s), this includes responding to technical inquiries, author Service Bulletins and support customer and MRO technical communication.

  • Act as technical interface between GE Internal organizations and customers and MRO facilities.

  • Participates as presenter or reviewer in technical and business forums, both internal (Tech Review, PCB, etc.) and including customers or regulatory agencies.

  • Work along with the module or system leader on life cycle plans and long-term strategy

  • Develop specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Experience in an engineering position relevant to the roles & responsibilities

  • Technical knowledge of aviation engines architecture and operation
