The Senior Manager of Category Management performs a valuable role in building a strong partnership with the company's key retailers by developing and implementing analytics and insights to deliver against company, category, and customer priorities. This position is responsible for leading the development and sharing of Category Management foundations and directives throughout the organization for the assigned category and customers. This is a remote role supporting the Drug Channel customers, CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid.

This role will be remote in either New Jersey, New York, Chicago, IL, Minneapolis, MN, or Ohio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Drug Channel Category Team with three direct reports to support key drug customers including CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Independent Drug for the Nestle Health Science (NSHc) portfolio across various categories.

  • Lead the customer relationship and category management duties for the Walgreens VMHS portfolio specifically.

  • Provide insights to drive category results embedding NHSc as the primary retail partner.

  • Identify and leverage data tools and capabilities to drive best in class actions to further develop company and retailer objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross functional internal and external partners including Sales Teams, Customer Strategy, Category Strategy, Shopper Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Shopper Insights, etc. to develop category solutions.

Category Strategy:

  • Identify and lead innovative and insight led strategies and projects to drive NHSc and category growth recognizing Nestle as preferred category choice supplier.

  • Identify category growth solutions and use them in the development and activation of retailer-specific category business plans to achieve 4P objectives.

  • Establish and deliver best in class merchandising and assortment recommendations leveraging key tools such as JDA, Rich Mix, etc.

  • Support and/or develop 4Ps strategic direction based on category strategy, best practices from customers/account teams and customer and shopper insights

  • Work with Category Strategy (Platforms) to support national business and category direction with customer category Initiatives incorporating macro level insights, CDTs, Panel as needed.

  • Establish and deliver best in class merchandising and assortment recommendations leveraging key tools such as JDA, Rich Mix, etc.

  • Support and/or develop 4Ps strategic direction based on category strategy, best practices from customers/account teams and customer and shopper insights

  • Work with Category Strategy (Platforms) to support national business and category direction with customer category Initiatives incorporating macro level insights, CDTs, Panel as needed.

Customer Strategy:

  • Develop and deliver succinct, concise, and compelling category led presentations for use with the retailer that clearly communicate opportunities and issues.

  • Develop and maintain consistent category line reviews, analyses, trackers, summaries, with the objective of establishing Nestle’s category centricity and expertise.

  • Partner with customer account teams and internal Customer Strategy/Category Strategy to deliver business growth opportunities

EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred.

  • 8 + years of Consumer Packaged Goods, preferably FMCG, industry experience, primarily Category Management driven.

  • Knowledge of key customer and channels specifically Drug

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills

  • Prior experience working with IRI/Nielsen syndicated and panel data.

  • JDA experience preferred.

  • Walgreens RSI/Loyalty and CVS CMG proficiency preferred.

  • Strong data synthesis and visualization.

  • Ability to effectively build story telling through data.

  • High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to extract clear, concise insights from multiple data sources.

  • Ability to work through ambiguity and complexity across multiple brands within the Category.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Must work well in a team environment and have a demonstrated ability to operate at all levels within an organization.

  • Experience working and collaborating cross functionally (account teams, strategy teams).

  • Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed.

  • Must be comfortable leading multiple retailers for a region.

  • Problem solver with a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • 25% or more overnight travel time required.

The approximate pay range for this position is $140,000 to $160,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
