The Opportunity:

As the Director of Capital Projects at Roche you are a talented and inspiring leader who is effective in operating in an evolving, complex and dynamic environment. You are someone who builds relationships, including international global colleagues, are culturally savvy and can adapt to and effectively manage in various cultural environments.

You drive to understand customer needs to successfully meet business goals while continuously improving operations by setting high standards for the team so they may perform to a level of excellence. The portfolio of projects includes office and lab refurbishments to Greenfield infrastructure and production facilities across the Americas region. Typical project/program size ranges from $10M - $100M.

At Roche you will:

  • Have overall responsibility for leading complex capital projects or programs to successful completion. Responsible for effective project management inclusive of management of the prime contractors and at risk sub-contractors for design and construction.

  • Ensure compliance with all Design standards, company and engineering policies and procedures are consistently utilized to achieve project goals.

  • Effectively communicates with and influences all levels of the organization. Exercises excellent judgment in determining appropriate project communications to internal and external stakeholders. Provides regular project status updates and presentations for executive management and the broader organization.

  • Manage project costs, schedule and scope as it relates to quality and overall stakeholder requirements.

  • Balance project risk and uncertainty through risk management and mitigation plans.

  • Ensure appropriate consulting and provision of the necessary approvals of technical experts, such as engineering, quality, environmental, health and safety, etc.

  • Maintain and communicate performance metrics to the team, setting and maintaining high expectations for team performance.

  • Drive and promote a culture of project management excellence in the organization. Support continuous improvement of project delivery practices.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Construction Management, Business, Architecture, Engineering or related technical field.

  • At least10+ years' experience in construction, development, engineering, architectural, facilities management, or similar experience managing capital projects ranging from $10M and up.

Preferred:

  • Experience in conceptual development, design and implementation, planning and scheduling and project management of major capital projects.

  • Strong technical leadership, collaboration, and sound business value based prioritization and problem solving skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and conflict resolution skills will be required, as the role works frequently in a resource challenged and schedule sensitive environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $167,900.00 - $311,700.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
