Performs diagnostic CT procedures within the CT Department utilizing specific equipment for that purpose. Rotates through diagnostic radiology as assigned and performs all responsibilities outlined in the Computed Tomography (CT) Tech Per Diem job description. Involved in the practice of radiation and general safety at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.Completion of an Accredited Radiography School. 2.ARRT certification/eligible in Radiography. Must become ARRT Certified within Six (6) months of hire - unless deemed not possible as a result of the temporary closure of testing centers due to circumstances such as pandemic. 3.West Virginia State Licensure, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed (excluding Pennsylvania). 4.Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire. 5.If hired after 1/1/2019, Computed Tomography Registration is required within One (1) year of hire - unless deemed not possible as a result of the temporary closure of testing centers due to circumstances such as pandemic. If hired before 1/1/2019, Computed Tomography Registration must be obtained by 12/31/2020 - unless deemed not possible as a result of the temporary closure of testing centers due to circumstances such as pandemic.

CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.   1. Prepares room, equipment, materials, as needed for patient exams, including sterile technique. Cleans and disinfects rooms and equipment following each patient exam, using current infection control policies.
  2. Performs examinations per Physician's orders and explains procedures to the patients. Documents any variations from protocol due to patient's condition or other unknown cause and relays patient history and clinical data to Radiologist.
  3. Observes patient and equipment and reports any unusual occurrences or changes. Transports and assists patients as needed.
  4. Documents status of patient in reference to radiology/CT procedure on patient's chart.
  5. Documents variances repeats and other such occurrences to help maintain high quality health care and opportunity for quality improvement.
  6. Maintains stock supplies, performs general office duties, responsible for proper film labeling and following prescribed techniques to assure acceptable quality and consistency.
