Job Summary:
We are seeking a self-motivated and proactive Safety Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the implementation of safety programs, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety across all sites.
What Youll Do:
Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments on a wide array of construction projects across the Heavy Civil and Paving Divisions of the company.
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures.
Facilitate any necessary training sessions, toolbox talks, and first aid training for employees.
Help to monitor and log tool box talks and weekly inspection sheets. submitted by superintendents and foremen.
Investigate incidents, prepare report, and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with site teams to promote safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
Monitor and maintain safety equipment, ensuring readiness at all times.
Fill out accident report investigations as needed and insure timely submission of all information to insurer.
Maintain professional working relationships with employees and subcontractors.
Keeps the safety of Waters employees as the #1 priority.
What Youll Need:
High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is preferred but no mandatory.
