Overview:

Provides work leadership over a business banking work team requiring highly specialized knowledge of the products, regulations, policies pertaining to Business Banking Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead business unit work teams with responsibility for multiple businesses and product lines.

• Monitor work flow and serve as liaison between work team and management .

• Collect, organize and maintain information and records on business banking transactions while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality

• Proactively display initiative and critical thinking required to mitigate customer and bank risk.

• Communicate tactfully and professionally with all internal and external customers.

• Perform back-up for various functions within the Business Operations group

• Maintain a high level of customer service, quality loan processing within the guidelines of department procedures, Corporate policies, and Compliance, Audit and Legal requirements

• May be responsible for process improvement/ documentation, training, & implementation of initiatives

• Interact with other departments to include Corporate Compliance and Legal regarding customer issues as needed; Research and resolve complex internal and external customer issues

• Maintain databases/spreadsheets and complete daily, weekly, or monthly departmental reporting

• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.

• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Impact on related operational work teams. Provide work leadership to junior members of the Operations Associate staff

Education and Experience Required:

• Associate’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ general work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and/or work experience

• Strong working knowledge of pertinent spreadsheet software

• Strong analytical skills

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $25.55 - $42.59 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
