Position Summary Information
Objective This position initiates and supports activities to recruit and enroll students in the Health Sciences Division to further their educational and career goals.

*Position Details *
* Principal Accountabilities* 1. Assist interested and/or currently enrolled students with developing an educational plan of academic and technical courses to achieve their intended educational goal related to health programs. 2. Assist currently enrolled students with identifying their educational and career goals to the extent that the student can develop an educational plan to achieve their goal. 3. Assist with various recruiting activities related to health careers. 4. Work together with and serve as a resource for Faculty Advisors and part-time Advisors in assist with academic advising. 5. Assist with New Student Orientations, Blinn Advising Days and other registration activities as needed. 6. Interact with parties and guardians of students while ensuring that the students FERPA rights are protected 7. Assist with various state and accreditation agency reporting 8. Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree
Minimum Competencies 1. Excellent communication and organizational skills 2. Computer literacy and ability to learn proprietary software 3. Ability to work in a collaborative work setting 4. Proficiency in various web-based software environments 5. Proficiency in MS-Office applications including Word and Excel 6. In-depth knowledge of health occupations 7. Work proactively and independently 8. Ability to multitask 9. Demonstrate collegiality with students, faculty, staff, and community members 10. Desire to promote health occupations
Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelors degree in healthcare related field 2. Certification in a related health field 3. 3 years experience in a higher education setting 4. Previous experience in advising higher education and health careers 5. Work experience in multiple health-related fields
Preferred Competencies 1.Critically analyze division needs and activate a strategic plan 2. Experience with Ellucian Banner 3. Experience with Degree Works 4. Experience with MS SharePoint 5. Experience with Learning Management Systems such as D2L, Blackboard, or Moodle

There are some events that occur in the evenings and on weekends i.e. information sessions, advising days, career fairs, or division meetings. Inter-campus travel is also required.
