Express Employment Professionals Weatherization Building Analyst in Bremerton, Washington

Overview:  The Weatherization Building Analyst is responsible for conducting inspections of residential properties to assess energy efficiency and identify areas for improvement. This entry-level position will play a crucial part in ensuring that homes meet the requirements for weatherization assistance under grant programs. The Weatherization Building Analyst will work closely with homeowners, contractors, and the weatherization team to provide recommendations for energy-saving measures.

JOB DUTIES:

May include but not limited to the following:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of residential properties to assess energy efficiency and identify weatherization needs.
  • Evaluate the condition of building components such as insulation, windows, doors, heating systems, and ventilation.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., blower doors, infrared cameras) to detect energy loss and air leakage.
  • Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports outlining recommended weatherization measures.
  • Educate homeowners about energy efficiency improvements and the benefits of weatherization.
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure recommended measures are implemented correctly and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines for weatherization programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and work performed.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on the latest weatherization techniques and standards.
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in construction, building science, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of residential construction and energy efficiency principles.
  • Ability to learn and operate diagnostic tools and equipment used in energy assessments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in residential construction, home inspections, or energy auditing.
  • Willingness to obtain Building Performance Institute Building Analyst Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working in various weather conditions and environments, including attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
  • Basic knowledge of residential construction and energy efficiency principles.
  • Ability to learn and operate diagnostic tools and equipment used in energy assessments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Pay: $27.60-$32.00/hour DOE

 

Hours/Shift:

Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (option for 4 x 10's).
